A brief summary of the server migration

It is 1AM in Estonia and we just finished migrating our servers from our previous provider Zone.eu to Amazon Web Services. The actual migration process itself took only 5 minutes, but the next one and a half hour we tested each integration and monitored every connection, error log and report possible to make sure that everything was working. None one wanted to jinx it by saying “Looks good to me” 🙂

We can now say that everything is up and running and twice as fast as before. Here are two screenshots from our monitoring dashboard. The first screenshot shows the Printout Designer App response time in milliseconds for requests made from US and EU, and the second screenshot shows the same thing, but the requests are made from Asia-Pacific region. From both screenshots you can see that the response times has decreased significantly.

Response time decreased from 857ms to 437ms

Response time decreased from 2354ms to 1247ms

We have also set up public status pages that show the status of our servers and also the status of different integrations.

Status page for our servers: status.printoutdesigner.com
Status page for separate integrations: printoutdesigner.actualreports.com/status

I also want to thank all of our users for being understanding about the poor service in recent weeks. I hope our journey together will continue.
